Sir Br Pat Lynch (Board Director) tells us human flourishing has to be the central focus of education. 鈥�Our schools need to deliberately build enough confidence in their students so each possesses these character dimensions: audacious thinkers, imaginative dreamers, critical questioners, innovative inventors, enthusiastic experimenters, committed collaborators, faith filled leaders, strong willed individuals in the face of adversity with resilient personalities鈥� (Sir Br. Pat Lynch fsc OBE).

I believe the true test of a successful education is the subsequent life of a student; the kind of person they become; the extent to which they are fulfilling their potential, using their gifts and talents to the best of their ability, for the betterment of others.

Our theme for 2022 is 'include' and continues the consistent narrative over the past several years about aspiring to greatness in terms of being and doing our best in the context of our five key principles: Faith; Respect, Inclusivity, Excellence and Advocacy for Justice.

I have chosen the verb include because it is an action, meaning, to make part of a whole. Therefore, at 蜜桃影像 in 2022 we will take every opportunity to promote, inform, form and guide our young men and women to 鈥榠nclude鈥� others in their actions and thoughts; include others positively in every word deed and action; include a global perspective; include an awareness for the environment and our carbon footprint; include so that we are respectful, tolerant and understanding of each other. To include is to make whole, therefore not to include is something less than what ought to be 鈥� less in ourselves; less in terms of a wholesome, accepting, safe, respectful school environment.

Today we cannot assume our younger folk know what it is 鈥榯o include鈥�, what it looks like, nor the thinking and attitude that creates it, therefore it will be a principle we will collectively promote and develop in 2022.

This year our schoolwide focus for teaching and learning will again be reading, writing and critical thinking. In 2021 our Allwell results showed improvement on 2018, 2019 and 2020. However, the rate of improvement in 2021 slowed across all domains and more so for spelling, grammar and punctuation. Writing improvement was significant across all Years, 7-10. Therefore, to continue improving writing it is essential we develop new and extended strategies to develop spelling, grammar (and critical thinking), essential for further writing gains.

This year the College has revised further the Year 7 Transition Programme where the Dean of Year 7, Mr Jones has mapped transitioning into Year 7 at 蜜桃影像 for the whole year. The 2022 Year 7 cohort of 350 students come from over 76 primary schools with different teaching and learning styles and expectations. The Transition and Pastoral Programme will induct all new students, both boys and girls, Years 7-11, into what is expected of a secondary student at 蜜桃影像 with special care for those who do not know any other student on arrival. Transition includes every aspect of adjusting to life at the College from classroom protocols and getting around the campus to accessing and joining sport, drama, music groups, clubs and societies etc.

John F Kennedy (1917-1963), President of the USA, said 鈥�every accomplishment starts with the decision to try鈥�. He went on to say, it will not be easy, it will be hard. Confucius (551-479BC) said 鈥�it does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop鈥�. Having perseverance and GRIT 鈥� having the courage, resolve and strength of character to keep on doing the hard work after you are tired of doing the hard work you have already done. This defines the Oakhill spirit.

Know that they have strength of spirit that enables them to rise above the fleeting things to engage life consciously 鈥� they never give in. Finally, I would like to congratulate the Class of 2021 and in particular Noah Hoyle, our College Dux for 2021, with an ATAR of 98.6. As we commence the 2023 school year, Oakhill's highest priority remains the safety and welfare of our staff and students. The College continues to take regular advice from NSW Health, Catholic Schools NSW (CSNSW), and the Australian Independent Schools Association (ISA) to minimise any risks associated with COVID.

蜜桃影像 has committed to an unprecedented long term Master Plan which will see the College offering students state of the art classroom learning environments as well as more green spaces.

For those families joining us in 2022 and as a reminder to our community, the first stages of our Master Plan include a science and technology Innovation Hub and Hilltop Precinct allowing for more areas to gather. 

The Innovation Hub is on track for completion in February 2023. The tender process has commenced for our Canteen which is planned to start in late January 2023 and finish at the end of Term 2, and then the final stage of the Hilltop Precinct, The Commons will commence later in 2023.

I am very honoured and humbled to be acting as Assistant Principal Curriculum in 2022. My name is Melissa McMahon and I am a passionate educator who has worked in a cross section of independent, systemic and public schools for over 25 years. Most recently, I was employed at Pymble Ladies' College as Director of Teaching Excellence and Director of Professional Practice. Prior to that, I was Director of Teaching and Learning and Head of English at St Leo's Catholic College. A dedicated and enthusiastic teacher of English, I still mark the NSW HSC and am a fervent advocate for the power of reading to transform lives. 

In the holidays you will find me curled up with a good book or with a pen in hand trying to craft my own stories.

I am committed to supporting our Oakhill educators to be the best classroom practitioners they can be through ongoing professional learning, coaching, mentorship and facilitation of leadership opportunities. A mother of two young adults navigating their way through adolescence, I have great respect for young people and empathy for parents. I am a firm believer in the capacity for all students to grow and succeed and I look forward to supporting students, parents and staff in nurturing this growth. 

Hi there, I am Jacqui Genovese the new Director of Student Learning (DOSL) at 蜜桃影像. I am extremely thrilled to be welcomed into the Oakhill community and to be working with staff, students, parents/guardians and other stakeholders within this faith-based learning community. I am a proud mother to my daughter of 22 months as well as a passionate teacher and leader in education. I am a motivated leader who constantly strives for improvement. I make decisions that are always in the best interest of our students and College community, keeping the learning and holistic development of the person the core of what we do. I come with a vast range of experience working previously within Sydney Catholic Schools and prior to that working within the Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta. I have experience working in both single-sex education as well as co-educational contexts. I teach Stage 6 Community and Family Studies, Years 7-12 PDHPE, Stage 5 PASS, Stage 4-5 Religious Education and Stage 6 Studies of Religion.

Alongside my teaching experience, I have been a leader since the very early stages of my career including roles as the Academic Head of PDHPE, Administration Co-ordinator and Leader of Teaching and Learning to name a few. In 2016 I completed a Master of Educational Leadership at the Australian Catholic University and due to my passion for learning, I am open to further study in the future.

Two fun facts about me:

1. I enjoy taking my board out to Narrabeen Lakes for stand-up paddle boarding and
2. I am petrified of birds which makes my practical PDHPE lessons for my students very interesting!

I believe I am truly fortunate and privileged to be afforded the opportunity to lead and teach today鈥檚 youth in the context of secondary education. Building the capacity of our staff is an essential investment as they transfer their own learning into the classroom, henceforth empowering our youth to make informed decisions and to one day lead this unpredictable world in which we live.

Schools never really stop. Term breaks are the ideal time to undertake important capital and upgrade works on campus, and this holiday period was no exception. Work undertaken included:

• Commencement of a new lift in the Solomon building between the Solomon and Quentin buildings;
• Installation of a new high-voltage cable easement through the Adrian carpark for an electricity substation for the Innovation Hub;
• Upgrade of the fire hydrant network to all hydrant valves;
• New carpet in the CSC foyer;
• Paint, new air conditioning units, carpet and blinds for the Adrian Building;
• Installation of an audio system to the Sports and undercroft precincts (project from P&F fundraising activities);
• Painting of hand rails 
• New AARNET fibre internet connection.

Sir Br Pat Lynch was appointed as a Director in 2015, is a leading New Zealand educationalist and was Chief Executive of the New Zealand Catholic Education Office (NZCEO) for 21 years from 1994 until his retirement in 2015. He also served as President of the Secondary Principles Association of New Zealand (SPANZ) from 1992 until 1994 and Principal of De La Salle College, Mangere, Auckland.

Mr Zschech has over 20 years鈥� experience in financial services (investment management / operations) and international IT outsourcing, including over eight years鈥� experience as a Director for public and private enterprises (profit and not for profit). Mr Zschech is currently a Chief Investment Officer for an Impact/Ethical Investment firm and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has held numerous Directorships including a Trustee Director of an Industry fund with over 30,000 members and $1.3B assets under management.

Mrs Vinci is an Alumni of Oakhill College (1979). Since graduating from 蜜桃影像 Mrs Vinci has achieved extensive experience globally in digital, technology, and operations and risk management. Her record of accomplishment of delivering strategies across people, culture, processes, and systems globally, provides a great foundation to play a key role in Oakhill鈥檚 strategic future. Mrs Vinci is currently a Group Executive and CO at the Bank of Queensland (BOQ) leading the digitisation of the business and customer experience.

Mr Madden brings a wealth of experience to Oakhill with some of his past appointments: Director - Fusion Commercial Consulting; Senior Vice President - Macquarie Bank; SIMPLA - Investor & Advisory Board Member; Senior Client Executive & Complex Deal Lead Telstra Corporation; Business Development Manager, KAZ Technology Services. He has also been a committed member of the 蜜桃影像 Rugby Club for nine years including being Vice President from 2012 - 2014, and President 2015 - 2019. Mr Madden is also a Member of the Finance Committee.

Mr O鈥橞rien, an Alumnus of 蜜桃影像 (1996) was appointed as a Director in 2014. Mr O鈥橞rien was admitted to the legal profession in 2008 and is a NSW Law Society Accredited Specialist in Commercial Litigation. Mr O鈥橞rien is a partner of Carroll & O鈥橠ea Lawyers.

It is with great enthusiasm that I pen my first newsletter. I have been warmly welcomed into the Oakhill family and I look forward to walking in partnership with students, families and teachers as we embark with hope on a new year of learning and friendship.

Each new year heralds a fresh beginning. Squeaky clean school shoes, new pencil cases, new teachers, new classes, the blank page. As we begin a new chapter and we hit refresh, what story will we write for ourselves in 2022? Will it be the year in which we step outside our comfort zone and try something new? Will we apply ourselves diligently and improve in that subject we have always found difficult? Dream big and believe in oneself. The blank page of 2022 offers much opportunity for our students and community to write great stories of individual growth and contentment. Students and teachers at 蜜桃影像 will be setting clear growth goals for 2022, informed by self-reflection, data and feedback. I encourage parents to regularly engage children in discussion about goals and how they are tracking towards them. Teachers will have a renewed focus on timely and explicit feedforward feedback and evidence-based practice to support your child in the achievement of his/her goal. Students are encouraged to actively seek additional feedback from their teachers and peers.

This year, I challenge us all to reflect on our feelings of self-efficacy. To what extent do we truly believe as individuals that we can grow, succeed and make a positive difference? Many parents will have heard their children say, 鈥淚 am not going to bother trying. I am not good at …I can鈥檛 do this…鈥� Our inherent belief in our capacity to improve has a significant impact on our wellbeing and effectiveness. We need to accept that learning is often uncomfortable and uncertain. To truly learn we have to allow ourselves to feel this discomfort, allow ourselves to make mistakes, but believe that with diligent, sustained effort and feedback we can improve. Families can support learners by challenging them to reflect critically and acknowledging that challenge, uncertainty and discomfort are indeed part of the learning process. Some questions parents can ask:

• What next steps can you take to improve?
• What鈥檚 one thing you can do that might make a difference?
• Was there a time when you were successful? What did you do?

One story that has inspired me recently is the story of 2022 NSW Australian of the year, Dr Daniel Nour. Daniel works in ICU at Royal North Shore Hospital during the day and then works tirelessly to afford medical treatment to the city鈥檚 homeless at night. At a time when medical professionals are stretched to capacity, Dr Nour and 250 other medicos like him; nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists, volunteer their time to serve those less fortunate. Not only does Daniel volunteer, but he pioneered the service himself, all whilst working in a very demanding hospital role. Like St John Baptist de La Salle, Dr Nour is employing his God-given gifts and talents to make a difference in the world. This young man鈥檚 work reminded me of Bill George鈥檚 True North, which is about finding one鈥檚 inner compass and coming to an understanding of our own values, motivations and what we can contribute to our community. Dr Nour has a clear understanding of the values that drive him each day and he can inspire us to reflect on what we stand for and how we can use our knowledge and capabilities to improve the world. What is your true north?  In these times, perhaps more than ever, we need to inspire young people to take what Ron Ritchhart calls 鈥渋ntelligent action鈥�. In 2022, I look forward to working in partnership with teachers, parents and students to encourage Oakhill students to find their own true north and use their unique abilities to make a positive difference in the world.

In our quest to prepare our young people to find their personal greatness and make a positive difference, critical thinking will be a key curriculum priority in 2022. The World Economic Forum identified analytical thinking and innovation as their top skill for the 鈥�2025 Jobs of Tomorrow.鈥� The capacity for our students to infer, make connections, evaluate and come to informed, reasoned conclusions with evidence is of paramount importance in the information age. To enable students to think critically, cognitive scientists assert that students need more knowledge to think with, accompanied by the vocabulary to explain, reflect and make sense of their world. The Oakhill Learning Framework, developed from best practice and educational research, ensures that students acquire the surface knowledge and then apply this knowledge to solve problems, ask questions and draw intelligent conclusions. The fundamentals of literacy and numeracy will remain a strong priority in 2022.

Learning at Oakhill is visible and explicit. Research shows that students who know where they are headed, who can articulate what they are learning and why, and who understand what success looks like, are ultimately more successful. Teachers will continue to utilise the Learning@Oakhill page in 2022 to ensure that students are cognisant of the learning intentions and success criteria.  We will continue to post-assessments early to ensure students have the optimum time to complete tasks. What we know, however, is that students who apply themselves consistently to ongoing classwork, homework and revision experience the most growth and success. Why not encourage your child to read their English texts in advance? Or regularly summarise topics on debating cards? Or submit practice papers for additional feedback.

With their feet on the ground, aiming for the stars, 蜜桃影像 HSC students have once again achieved excellent all-round results. As a school community we are extremely proud of each student鈥檚 achievements, and proud that they now go on to new pastures as the sought after Oakhill Graduate. They leave us with the strong foundation of being a good citizen and using their gifts and talents for the betterment of the world.

Congratulations to Noah Hoyle who is the top achieving student in 2021 with an ATAR of 98.6, Alex Nielsen who was second with an ATAR of 98.35, and James Nati who was third with an ATAR of 98.25. Overall, there were 15 students with an ATAR above 95, and 50 with an ATAR above 90. In addition, the College had four students on the All Rounder List for achieving Band 6 in all their subjects: Marco Fogolin, Noah Hoyle, Olivia Humm and James Nati. Furthermore, 118 students were listed on the Distinguished Achievers list for attaining a Band 6 in at least one subject. In 2021, 45% of all HSC results were in the top 2 Bands (either Band 5 or Band 6), a testament to their hard work. Over 2/3 of our students received early offers from various universities with many students receiving many offers from multiple universities.

蜜桃影像 is delighted and congratulates the Class of 2021 on their attainment of the qualities of an 鈥極akhill Graduate鈥� grounded: aiming for the stars, good people ready for the challenges in life. The results, of the graduating Class of 2021, demonstrate a breadth and depth of talent, with outstanding results in courses such as Business Studies, Chemistry, CAFS, English Studies, English Standard, Legal Studies, Mathematics Standard 1, Mathematics Standard 2, Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 2, Modern History, Society and Culture, Studies of Religion 2, VET Construction, VET Primary Industries and VET Retail. 

The College congratulates Hannah Cook, a Year 11 student who received a 1st in State in Studies of Religion (2 Unit) In addition, Edirimuni Amarasekara and Liam Milton-White, also both Year 11 students who received a State placing in Advanced Mathematics (2 Unit). All three students participated in the College accelerated program.

The College is also very proud and congratulates the following prestigious nominations across the Creative Arts and Applied Technology courses. Due to the pandemic, NESA restricted the number of students that could be identified as outstanding in their fields. There were 2 OnSTAGE nominations for Drama 鈥� Charles Horner and Corey Evans. One student, Rachel Western, was nominated for CallBack for her Major Study Performance in Dance. Liam Maher and Elia Chaiban were nominated for ENCORE for their overall performance/composition in Music. Four students were nominated for inclusion in InTech for their Timber and/or Graphics Major Works. Gustavo Montenegro (D&T), Natarsha Stornelli (D&T, Jayden Moujalli (Ind Tech Graphics) and James Urquhart (Ind Tech Timber).

Oakhill classes for mandatory classes such as Mathematics, Science and English are split over two lines. Given the size of the College and to ensure students can have success in their elective choices means that half of each of the year cohorts (Years 7-10) are timetabled together on one line.

The College has structured the classes for each of the year groups and courses based on both researches connected to structure/levels and best practice for transition into Stage 6 (Year 11 and 12).

There is an Enrichment class on each half of the timetable for Years 7, 8 and 9, as well as Advanced and Standard bands across Years 7 鈥� 10. The students within the bands are reviewed each year, based on various forms of data such as Formal assessment performance, informal assessment performance, Naplan* and Allwell*.

路       Access to Data sets is dependent on COVID-19 interruptions year to year.

To enable students to be organised for the commencement of the 2022 school year, student timetables will be distributed as follows:

• Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 students new to the College will receive their timetable in hard copy on Monday 23rd January when they visit the campus for their orientation day.
• Year 7 and 11 students will receive their timetable in hard copy on Friday 27th January when they arrive on campus
• Year 8, 9, 10 and 12 students will receive their timetable on friday 27th January via email by Ms Jacqueline Genovese - Director of Student Learning.

The College Uniform Shop will be open as per the hours below in the De La Salle Building. You may also order any uniform requirements via Flexischools. Flexischools re-opened to receive orders from Tuesday 17th January. Once orders are completed, order pick ups are from The Uniform Shop during opening hours.

Normal term time opening hours re-commence from the week commencing Monday 30th January.

The Retreats and Reflection Day Programmes are compulsory for all students and come under the direction of the College Mission Team. The compulsory Reflection Days (Years 7鈥�10 and Year 11 Retreat), together with an optional Year 12 retreat provide students with the time to reflect on life and to interact with others in a Christian context. They also ensure a memorable experience of our College community where the individual is valued and where communal experiences of liturgy, celebration and reflection are highlighted.

Attendance at school for all classes is critical but, at Oakhill we also believe that attendance at major College events is just as critical in building our school community. Attendance on the days listed below is compulsory and requires a medical certificate if a student is absent:

Academic progress and a settled environment can only occur when priority is given to continuity of attendance. It is essential for this to occur if your son or daughter is to achieve and prosper. We seek parent support in minimising absence from school. The College expects all students to be at school unless too sick to do so. It is also a legal requirement. Your support in this matter is appreciated.

Parents are reminded that there is an expectation that students attend 蜜桃影像 for the entire term as gazetted in the College diary and calendar. Please remember that:

• Term dates are published in advance so that correct holiday bookings can be made;
• The College program determines that the students work right up to the end of the term.

Please note that student鈥檚 involvement in all College activities is part of the agreement made by parents and students at the time of enrolment.

Apart from unanticipated sickness, all requests for leave are to be made in advance, preferably with two weeks notice. Requests are to be submitted via the appropriate form: a copy of this form can be obtained from the parent portal. Forms are to be completed and can be sent via email to: jhagerty@oakhill.nsw.edu.au.

Parents will be notified of the outcome of the request via email. Permission for Leave should not be presumed. This process has been developed in response to amendments to the Education Act. Students absent from school without prior permission or with Unapproved Leave will be given zero for any assessment tasks and/or examinations missed.

No student is permitted to be in any shopping centre in College uniform, unless in the company of a parent. Any student seen in a shopping centre in uniform without an accompanying parent will be disciplined and receive an afternoon detention. There are no exceptions to this rule. 

Parents visiting the College are to use the parks marked 鈥榁isitors鈥� closest to the College reception. All other numbered parking spaces are reserved. Parents are asked not to park in the designated 鈥楰iss and Drop鈥� zones. These exist to support the traffic flow at what can be, very congested areas.

Mobile phones, smart device communication tools and ear pods must be switched off and out of sight on campus from 8:00am to 3:15pm, including recess and lunchtime. Mobile phones, smart devices and ear pods must be out of sight during all lessons, assemblies, in the Library or whilst on an excursion unless a teacher has given permission for a learning activity or emergency. 

Parents are encouraged to use the normal channel of communicating with their son/daughter by phoning the College on 9899 2288 if they wish to contact their child during school hours. Mobile phones will be confiscated if used between 8.00am and 3.15pm without the permission of a staff member.

Students鈥� behaviour, grooming, language and wearing of the uniform appropriately on public transport is one aspect of our public image. If travelling on a public bus service, students are required at all times to give up their seat for public paying passengers when the bus is full. Students are to be proactive and offer their seat to patrons. All students are expected to have an Opal card and to tap on and off the bus and train each day as this impacts the scheduling of transport services.

The College uniform must be worn properly at all times. For boys, in summer it includes a crested shirt, trousers, black socks, and polished black leather lace-up shoes with rubber soles. Girls are reminded that kilts must be worn below the knee (see below). If you are unsure, the details can be found in the College Diary. Parents are requested to only purchase uniforms from the College Uniform Shop to ensure correct style and colour. Please mark all clothing clearly in a number of places so if lost they can easily be returned to the owner.

The only wet weather clothing allowed at the College is the Oakhill raincoat. No hoodies or jumpers, other than the College jumper, are to be worn. Thermal or long sleeve undershirts are not to be seen at any time. A plain white short sleeve shirt ONLY can be worn under the College summer shirt.

College Bag

Every student must have an Oakhill College school backpack as their primary bag and an 蜜桃影像 sports bag (available in two sizes) for PDHPE and sport. College school bags and sports bags are available from the College Uniform Shop and no other form of backpack or bag is allowed. At no time is the College Crest to be covered on the College backpack or sports bag.

Students must only be absent when they are genuinely sick. All absences from 蜜桃影像, except for prior approved leave, are to be rung into the office (9634 0856) by 8:30am on each day of absence. An SMS text message will be sent to parents鈥� mobile phones at approximately 10:30am each day. Parents are required to explain student absence in the Parent Portal. Where illness affects examinations, sporting matches/activities or school determined obligatory commitments, a medical certificate must be presented. Likewise, absence on the last day of a school term requires a medical certificate.

The school day commences at 8:35am and all students are expected to be present at this time. Students who arrive later than this must present themselves to the Student Services Office in the Liesse Building.

Parents are requested not to make dental, medical or driving test appointments during school time. Missing lessons affect your son鈥檚 or daughter鈥檚 performance and routine.

After three 鈥榰nauthorised lates鈥�, students will automatically incur an afternoon detention for each day of lateness for the remainder of that term. An SMS text message will be sent when a student is late for school. Parents are asked to respond to the SMS text message with an explanation.

The College clearly sets out the regulations regarding hairstyles in the College Diary. Deans, Heads of School and the Assistant Principal - Pastoral Care, will determine when a hairstyle is outside the College Hairstyle Policy, and the student may be required to have their hairstyle changed immediately. Upon enrolment with the College, students and parents agreed to support the College policies and procedures. Alternative hairstyles or colouring undertaken during holiday periods must be corrected prior to returning to school.

• Hair should be neatly cut and maintained at all times 鈥� clean, brushed and combed.
• Boy鈥檚 hair must be above their shirt collar and must not hang over the eyes and face.
• Bob cuts are unacceptable.
• Skin fade, 鈥榤ullet鈥� and 'mushroom' cuts are unacceptable.
• Undercut styles are not acceptable, nor are tracks or lines.
• Dramatic layered effects or levels are not permitted; hair clipped on the sides and back must blend in with hair on the top, so that there is not an overhang of hair over the sides and back
• Hair should not be overly styled by the use of hair products.
• Hair is not to be tinted or coloured (this also applies to girls).
• Hair must not be shaved, nor extreme with clippers, number 鈥�2鈥� being the shortest acceptable cut.
• Boys are not permitted to wear their hair in a ponytail at any time.
• Rats-tails, dreadlocks or other braidings are not permitted.
• Girls with long hair must tie it back with maroon or navy ribbon ONLY.
• Boys are to be clean-shaven at all times.
• Girls should not wear eye makeup, including fake lashes, lipstick, nail polish or fake tan 鈥� light foundation is permitted.
• Artificial nails, Shellac nails and French manicures are also not permitted. Students will be asked to have the polish /artificial nails removed immediately if worn to school.
• Jewellery is not to be worn, with the following exception: lightweight silver/gold chain with crucifix or small religious medallion.
• Any student with a tattoo must have it covered at all times, whether at school or at sport and / or when representing the College.
• It is at the discretion of the College as to acceptable uniform and grooming. Upon enrolment with the College, students and parents agreed on the importance of grooming and wearing the uniform correctly and with pride. 
• ID photos will take place on the first day for each Year group and school photos will take place on 26th May 2022. Students must meet all grooming and hair expectations to have their photo taken on these days. Any student not meeting grooming and hair expectations may be denied having a photo. All grooming is at the College discretion and parents and students at the time of enrolment agree to these expectations.

An important part of keeping all our students safe is ensuring all medical conditions and medications are up to date with the College. We ask all parents to check their child/s profile on the Parent Portal at the start of term and ensure permission to administer medications and any required information is on the system and is up to date. 

Please also ensure that any medication your child requires is delivered to sickbay prior to the commencement of school in a clear ziploc bag with your child鈥檚 name and cohort on it and any necessary action plans. All prescription medication is to be stored with the First Aid Officer.

Managing Anaphylaxis at 蜜桃影像

Oakhill is always looking to partner with and support students who have life threatening conditions on campus such as Anaphylaxis. Please ensure that your child鈥檚 medical condition is known to sickbay via the Parent Portal. One of the ways we partner with students and families is to allow an Epipen and other outlined medications in the Action Plan to be carried by the student in person. However, sickbay should also be provided by the family with a spare Epipen, Action Plan and any medication to support this condition. 

It is very important that should your child identify that they do not have their Epipen or medication in their bag on any school day, they must report immediately to sickbay for Mrs Chapman to assist with supplying their spare Epipen, to ensure they are safe on campus and when attending off campus events, such as excursions. If your child is needing assistance due to a Medical Emergency, they must notify their classroom teacher or teacher on yard duty who will assist in caring for them.

This is a privilege for Year 12 students only 鈥� prior approval is required. Application forms are available from the Head of Senior School. Year 12 students may drive to and from school only. They are not permitted to drive to excursions. It is expected that students granted permission to drive to and from Oakhill will obey not only the College regulations but also the conditions of their licence (red P, green P, full licence). No student is to park on the College property unless they have been issued a parking space through the ballot system. No student is permitted to have unauthorised passengers in their car. A note from a passenger鈥檚 parents is required to be submitted to The Head of Senior School before travelling in a student car. Students must respect local residents鈥� driveways and roads. All students who drive to 蜜桃影像 must register their car鈥檚 registration number with the Head of Senior School, whether they park on the property or not.

Parents are asked not to drop items such as sports gear, books, laptops, lunch, money etc at the College so it can be delivered to students during the course of the day. Allowing students to manage without items builds resilience and often helps students to remember and be more responsible for themselves. Thank you for your assistance.

After school detentions run from 3:20pm to 4:30pm. Any student who fails to attend an afternoon detention without a prior satisfactory reason will be issued a Saturday detention. Saturday detentions run from 8.00am to 9:30am. Sporting commitments and work are not acceptable reasons for not attending a Saturday detention rendering the punishment learning from the detention worthless and inaffective. Requests to change a detention for work, sport or family events will not be considered as this is failing to plan accordingly. Failure to attend Saturday detention will result in Suspension. Upon enrolment with the College, students and parents agreed to support the College policies and procedures.

The practice of the College is to provide correspondence to all parents and care givers 鈥� residential and non-residential. If there is any reason (e.g. court orders) that this should not occur, could you please notify the College as soon as possible and provide a copy of the relevant Orders to the Registrar. Our main form of communication is via email, so please ensure your email details are kept up to date. 

Parents are reminded that the Parent Teacher Evenings and Parent/Tutor Day are not optional events. The College has only one full parent teacher meeting for each Year group and one Parent/Tutor Day therefore, presence at these meetings is expected. Parents unable to attend on the designated night need to arrange an interview with the Academic Head (for parent teacher evenings) and contact the Tutor Teacher (for Parent/Tutor Day) on a subsequent day.

Tuesday 2nd April is the Parent/Tutor Day. There are no classes for students this day. However students are expected to attend the Parent/Tutor meeting with their parent for their interview. Interview time bookings will open in March.

The Parents and Friends Association meets regularly throughout the year and all parents and friends of the College are invited to attend. We have a vibrant and active P&F association who host a number of events throughout the year. 

The P&F meetings are held regularly in the Library, commencing at 7:00pm and concluding before 9:00pm. A reminder of the evenings will be in the College Newsletter and on the website during the year. Our first P&F meeting is on 8th February at 7.00pm. All welcome.

The following events are planned for 2023. However, in this ever-changing COVID environment, confirmation of events will be made closer to the dates.

On Wednesday 9th February from 6:00pm-7.00pm all Year 7 parents and guardians are invited and encouraged to meet the Pastoral Team. This is a semi-formal occasion where parents will meet those teachers primarily responsible for their son鈥檚 welfare. For Year 7 students this will be their son鈥檚 Tutor Teacher. Information about coming events and activities at the College will be provided on this evening and parents and guardians will have the opportunity to ask questions or have any matters clarified.

These meetings will be followed by light refreshments. Students are not required or expected to attend. 

Our 2022 Calendar will be distributed one per family (Years 7-12) week commencing 23rd January.

Our 2022 Yearbook will be distributed one per family (Years 8-12) in March. This delay is due to our photos being unable to be taken until the end of the year.

If students would like to purchase a House T-shirt, they may do so via the College Uniform Shop. House T-shirts are optional and may be worn to Swimming and Athletics Carnivals only.
