In Year 9 and 10 all students study the following mandatory courses in order to be eligible for a Record of School Achievement issued by the Board of Studies Teaching & Educational Standards (BOSTES).

Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses enable students to study courses that are relevant to industry needs and have clear links to post-school destinations. These courses allow students to gain both Higher School Certificate qualifications, counting towards the ATAR and accreditation with industry and the workplace as part of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). This national framework is recognised across Australia and helps students to move easily between the various education and training sectors and employment. These courses each have a specific workplace component and a minimum number of hours students must spend in the workplace. At the end of their HSC students receive documentation showing the competencies gained during the course.
